Ceiling and like overhead lamps; mounting electric lamps in lanterns.-The globe of an overhead electric lamp comprises an opaline reflecting part a-6-c, a part c-d which is slightly unpolished or " satinised " to diffuse the direct and reflected rays, and an open bottom 4. A lamp bulb 5, having its lower part unpolished or frosted, is carried by a support 10 slidably adjusted in grooves 11 having indications for the different types of bulbs used. The upper end of the chimney is provided with ventilation apertures 14 and is secured by means of a bayonet joint to a suspension hood 15.
