Abstract

440,455. Electric incandescent lamps. CONTI, J. T. F., 52, Rue de Clichy, Paris. Nov. 30, 1934, No. 34392. [Class 39 (ii)] An electric incandescent lamp has a reflecting surface which is generated by the rotation of the opposite branches 2, 3 of two coaxial parabolas of different focal lengths and having a common vertex on their common axis, about a line XX at right angles to the common axis and further away from the vertex than either focus f<1>, f<2>. The filament 4 is shaped as an arc of a circle concentric with the axis XX, and is disposed between the circular arcs generated by the foci f<1>, f<2> of the parabolas 2, 3 respectively. Half the surface of the bulb is silvered. The filament is in two parts and is supported by three conducting supports so that the two parts may be connected to the source of current either in series or in parallel.
