515,378. Windscreen cleaners. TRICOFOLBERTH, Ltd. (Trico Products Corporation). May 30, 1938, No. 16162. [Class 138 (i)] In a windscreen wiper, the blade is angularly movable with respect to the arm and is arranged, between its two extreme wiping positions, to sweep through a greater angle, than is swept through by the arm. As shown in Fig. 1, the hooked fin 3 of the blade 1 removably engages in a tapered slot 11 in the arm 2, whereby the angular movement is permitted. Ears 9, 10 limit the rolling action of the blade on the screen. A rod 13, pivoted to the screen frame 15 at a point 16 beneath the wiper shaft 5, engages slidably in a tubular guide 12 on the back of the blade. Thus, the blade is caused to swing about the point 16, as the arm swings about its axis 5. In a modification, the upper end of the blade is connected to the point 16 by a light tension spring. The tapered slot may be provided on the blade 1, or the fin may be pivoted to the blade.
