Abstract

793,202. Windscreen cleaners. SMITH, T. T. Sept. 14, 1956 [Oct. 4, 1955], No. 28158/55. Class 138(1). An auxiliary screen wiper comprises an auxiliary blade 19 carried by an auxiliary arm 17 which is secured to or formed integrally with the arm 10 of a screen wiper, the auxiliary blade 19 extending at an angle to the arm of the wiper and being adapted to sweep an arc of the screen of greater radius than, but overlapping, that swept by the wiper. As described, the auxiliary arm 17 is secured by a U -clamp 15 to the arm 10 of the wiper, and is gradually bent through an approximate right angle so that the auxiliary blade 19, in one extreme position, lies parallel to and adjacent a side 18 of the screen. In operation, the auxiliary blade sweeps an area of the screen indicated by the lines 21 in Fig. 1.
