Abstract

821,736. Windscreen wipers. TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd. April 18, 1958 [April 18, 1957], No. 12744/57. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper blade of rubber or like material has a neck 20, a wiping edge 15 at the termination of a lip 13, and lateral fins 12, 14 between the neck and the lip, so shaped that when the blade is unstressed the distance from the wiping edge to a line joining the extremeties of the fins is about equal to or less than, half the distance between the extremeties of the fins. A plane through the neck and perpendicular to a plane through the wiping edge and tangential to either of the fins is closer to the wiping edge than to the extremity of the fin. The blade is secured by bead 16 in backing strip 18 embraced by tongues 19 on the superstructure 6. Fins 12, 14 have surfaces 22, 24 which are perpendicular, or slightly inclined, to the plane through lip 13 and neck 20.
