968,300. Windscreen wipers. TRICOFOLBERTH Ltd. Aug. 23, 1963 [Aug. 24, 1962], No. 32669/62. Heading A4F. A windscreen wiper which is not easily lifted from a windscreen by the force of the wind has a rubber blade, having at least four wiping lips 16, so shaped that each lip during wiping (apart from the trailing outer lip) flexes into a position in which it engages the lip immediately behind it, Fig. 4. A backing strip 18 is embedded in a body 14, and three metal lugs 20 brazed on to the backing strip 18 are pivoted on to a harness, of the type described in Specification 940,214. Holes leading from the top of the rubber blade to the various channels between the lips may be provided at intervals along the blade. The lips 16 may, as shown, be tapered towards the body.
