Abstract

853,516. Windscreen cleaners. TRICO - PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Nov. 22, 1956 [Nov. 22, 1955], No. 35766/56. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper assembly, particularly for use on curved windscreens, comprises a main arm 8 attached at its inner end to an operating shaft 5 and carrying on its outer end a laterally extending normalizing arm 11 connected by a pivot 12 to mounting 10 fixed on the main arm. Spring 13 anchored respectively to mounting 10 and arm 11 urges wiper 3, which is carried on the free end of arm 11, toward the windscreen. The wiping blade is preferably parallel to main arm 8 ; in two modifications (a) the blade is oblique with respect to the normalizing arm, Fig. 9 (not shown), and (b) the blade is at right angles to the normalizing arm, the latter being oblique to the direction of the main arm, Fig. 10 (not shown). Two ways of connecting the normalizing arm to the wiper. are disclosed, Fig. 6, and Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown).
