Abstract

795,075. Windscreen cleaners. TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd. Dec. 21, 1956 [Dec. 21, 1955], No. 36670/55. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper blade unit comprises a blade 2 with a stiffener 4, and a pressure-distributing linkage comprising a yoke 6 transversely pivoted on pin 12 and connected at its ends to intermediate points 18 on stiffener 4, two levers 8, 10 pivoted independently on pin 12 at their inner ends and connected to the ends of stiffener 4 at their outer ends 18, and a spring surrounding pin 12 which acts on the levers and tends, in use, to urge their outer ends toward the windscreen, the pivot being displaced from the centre of yoke 6, and/or levers 8, 10 being of unequal length, so that the distribution of pressure by the linkage is not symmetrical. A blade unit in which the pressure is made greater towards the outboard end is of particular use on panoramic windscreens.
