803,324. Windscreen cleaners. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Sept. 12, 1957 [Sept. 24, 1956 ; Sept. 27, 1956], No. 28733/57. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper assembly comprises a primary yoke 28 attached to secondary yokes 30 and 32 through pivots 34 and 36 which are set at an oblique angle A to the axis of the wiper. When the wiper blade reaches the wrap around portions of the windscreen, the secondary yokes 30 and 32 pivot about their axes and thereby maintain the wiper blade substantially normal to the surface of the glass. In an alternative embodiment, Figs. 7 and 9, an oblique pivot is formed by the bracket 48 between the primary yoke 28 and the outer section 18 of the pressure applying arm, which functions in a similar manner.
