Class 138(1) A windscreen wiper arm 17, Figs. 2 and 3, has a clip 22 which is adapted to be attached to a wiper blade and is mounted to pivot at 25 on the arm in the plane of movement . thereof and is resiliently biased towards a limit position of angular movement relative to the arm 17. As shown in Fig. 1 a "wrap-around" curved windscreen having a front portion 11 joined by sharply curved portions with rearwardly extending wing portions 12 and 13, is wiped by blades 19, 20 carried by wiper arms 17 and 18, respectively. Referring to the wiper 17, 19 only, the blade 19 when in its parked position along the vehicle cowl 16 is aligned with the arm 17. During its operative strokes between positions 19<SP>1</SP> and 19" the blade is angularly displaced relative to the arm so that when wiping over the sharply curved portion of the windscreen between the lines 14, 15 the blade is substantially parallel to the axis of revolution of that portion. The wiper blade is carried by the clip 22, Figs. 2 and 3, pivotally mounted on the end of the arm 17 by a pin 25 with the interposition of a washer 30, Fig. 3. The clip is secured for rotation with the pin 25 by having a square hole therein engaging a square position 28 on the shank 27 of the pin. A stop 31 on the clip abuts a stop 32 on the arm 17 and a torsion spring 33 surrounding the pin has its ends connected to the stop 32 and a slot 29 in the pin 25. When the blade is aligned with the arm 17 and the cowl 16, the spring 33 is stressed so that as the blade moves away from the cowl the spring rotates the clip to the full line position shown in Fig. 2, wherein the stop 31 abuts the stop 32.
