Abstract

578,353. Windscreen cleaners. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and PURDEN, R. H. Oct. 2, 1944, No. 18813. [Class 138 (i)] To facilitate parking the wiper of a windscreen cleaner it is mounted in an upper arm h of the' wiper which is connected to an oscillating arm a, by means of a pivot g, and a spring m, Fig. 2, or o, Fig. 3, acts upon the arm h in such a manner that whilst the arms a, h are normally in line, the arm h can be moved to either side of that position when the wiper is arrested by the edge of the windscreen. In a further modification, a pair of flat springs attached to the arm a engages abutments on the arm h arranged above the pivot g.
