[Class 138 (i).] The arm c fixed to an oscillatable shaft d is connected by a pin-and-slot connection to the wiping element a, which has also a pivotal connection to a link e loosely mounted on the shaft d, so that at each end of its traverse the wiping element is substantially in a vertical position. In a modification the element a and the arm c are connected by two or more link members. The link e may be loosely mounted at a point above the shaft d.
