Abstract

457,809. Windscreen-cleaners. OPPERMAN, S. E., Woodside Lane, North Finchley, London. June 6, 1935, No. 16484. [Class 138 (i)] The holder for the wiper blade of an oscillatory windscreen cleaner is spaced from the screen by a device mounted on a bracket or saddle member which connects the wiper arm with the blade holder, the device being located midway or substantially midway between the ends of the wiping strip. In the construction shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the wiper blade 6 is connected to the wiper arm 3 by a saddle member 2 which is secured to the blade holder 1 and is provided with rollers 5 adapted to engage the screen. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, only one roller is provided and the screw 10 screwing the member 2 to the wiper arm 3 also serves to secure the blade holder 1 within the member 2.
