512,138. Windscreen cleaners. TRICOFOLBERTH, Ltd. (Trico Products Corporation). May 30, 1938, No. 13769/39. Divided out of 515,378. [Class 138 (i)] In a windscreen wiper in which the blade is arranged to sweep out a wider arc than that traversed by the arm, the usual fin 3 by which the blade 1 is connected to the arm 2 engages in a V-shaped slot 11 on the arm, so that it can pivot about the apex of the slot. The extent of angular movement of the blade relatively to the arm is controlled by. flanges 9, 10 on the arm, and leaf springs 21, 22 hold the blade and arm normally in alignment. The inner end of the blade is engaged, towards the end of the oscillation of the arm, by a stop 23 or by a part of the framing 15, so that the blade is swung to a horizontal position. In a modification, the leaf springs are replaced by a coiled spring connecting the blade and arm.
