Abstract

514,158. Windscreen cleaners. O'SHEI, W. E., and TRICO-FOLBERTH, Ltd. March 28, 1938, No. 9427. [Class 138 (i)] A Windscreen wiper of the kind in which the arm is adapted to be turned away from the screen to permit replacement of the blade, is provided with stop means such that lifting of the blade from the screen, due to air resistance at high speeds, is prevented. As shown, Fig. 2, the arm 11a is pivoted to a short arm 10 and is biassed towards the screen by a spring 31. Lifting of the arm from the screen is prevented by a stop 27 carried by a pivoted plate 26 which can be turned aside to allow tilting of the arm from the screen. In a modification, the stop consists of a nut on a bolt secured to the arm 10 and passing' through a slot in the arm 11a.
