Abstract
503,929. Alloys. SIEMENS & HALSKE AKT.-GES. Oct. 15, 1937, Nos. 28162 and 28163. Convention dates, Oct. 16, 1936 and Sept. 27, 1937. [Classes 72 and 82 (i)] A heat-treated magnetic alloy for permanent magnets contains not less than 45 per cent of iron, 7-30 per cent of molybdenum or molybdenum and tungsten, 2-25 per cent of copper, and 0-À25 per cent of carbon and is free from cobalt. It may also contain up to 5 per cent of nickel or up to 10 per cent of one or more of the elements: chromium, manganese, vanadium, aluminium, magnesium, silicon, boron, and tantalum. The alloy is heated to between 1100‹ C. and the melting point, and then cooled or quenched, and finally annealed at, for example, 500-800‹ C.
