Abstract

500,227. Alloys. DEUTSCHE EDELSTAHLWERKE AKT.-GES. Aug. 6, 1937, No. 21738. Convention date, Aug. 7, 1936. [Class 82 (i)] Permanent magnets are made from a steel alloy containing in addition to iron and the usual impurities 0À65-1À6 per cent of carbon, 2-10 per cent of chromium, 1À5-6 per cent of cobalt, and 0À9-2À5 per cent of silicon. One or more of the following may also be present : up to 8 per cent of tungsten, up to 3 per cent of molybdenum, up to 1À5 per cent of titanium, up to 3 per cent of copper. When molybdenum and tungsten both are present, the proportion thereof does not exceed 9 per cent. Specification 476,994 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the subjectmatter of Specification 500,931. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
