Abstract
495,862. Electric induction furnaces. VEREINIGTE EDELSTAHL AKT. - GES. Feb. 17, 1937, Nos. 4763, 4764, and 4765. Void. Convention dates, Feb. 17, 1936, March 21, 1936, and March 21, 1936. [Class 39 (iii)] A cooling jacket 10 is arranged between the coil 2 and the crucible 4. The jacket may be subdivided longitudinally or may consist of a hollow coil of few turns. A further cooling jacket may be arranged outside the coil 2. Polyphase furnaces with helical and flat coils are described. With flat coils the cooling jacket is a tube of spiral or grid form.
