Induction furnaces. - In a high frequency induction furnace the induction coil 1 is wound so that its turns decrease in diameter towards one or both ends, so that in a crucible 2 conforming in contour to the turns of the coil the marginal dispersion of the magnetic field is reduced to a minimum and the number of lines of force permeating the metal in the crucible is increased. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a furnace Fig. 4 (Cancelled), for heating a charge 2 wherein the length of the coil is greater than that of the charge and the coil is divided into sections connected in parallel or series-parallel. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
