Abstract
383,859. Heating by electric induction. BORNAND, E., 112, Route de Florissant, and SCHLAEPFER, H. A., 13, Rue Verdaine, both in Geneva, Switzerland. April 1, 1932, No. 9390. Convention date, April 6, 1931, [Class 39 (iii).] An induction heater for electric welding comprises two coils formed as cones 1, 3 with their apices together, the work to be welded being in the free space 6 within the cones. The cross section of the cones may be circular or oblong. The cones may also be connected by a length of coil of uniform cross section to form a ring with a gap 6, Fig. 4. The coils may be provided with cores 11 of iron or other metal.
