Aug. 2, 1932, No. 21690. Convention date, Aug. 1, 1931. [Class 38 (ii).] A low-voltage transformer has an outer cover 3, 5 of metal or insulating material conforming to the outer dimensions of the transformer, the space between the cover and the coils 2 being of substantially uniform width and filled with loose quartz sand 4 forming a layer of high thermal conductivity around the exterior of the coils. Figs. 1 and 2 show the application to core type and shell type transformers respectively.
