Abstract
545,984. Reactors. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd. May 6, 1941, No. 5872. Convention date, May 8, 1940. [Class 38 (ii)] In reactors having airgapped cores, the gaps are filled by spacing members comprising insulated non-magnetic metallic elements in the form of a spirally wound bar 20 of bronze covered with fibre-glass, enamel, paper or asbestos insulation and secured between insulating discs 22 and within an insulating surround 25. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also metallic elements in the form of parallel-arranged bars, or in granular form embedded in a moulded insulating plastic, and includes manganese, nickel-, or chromiumsteel as alternatives to bronze. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
