[Class 39 (i)] In cathode-ray tubes for television the electron-optical system consists of one or more wire-coils or spirals the ends of which are connected to a source of direct current for producing an electromagnetic field and to a source of potential for producing an electrostatic field. Several wire coils may be used with the turns of one coil coinciding with the interspaces between the turns of other coils. The coils may be in the form of cylinders or discs.
