Abstract
492,248. Projectile fuzes. CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA AKCIOVA SPOLECNOST, BRNO. March 8, 1938, No. 7301. Convention date, March 20, 1937. [Class 9 (i)] The striker 5 of a sensitive percussion fu ze is locked by centrifugal balls 3, located in transverse holes in a sleeve 2 forming a guide for the striker and prevented from moving outwardly by a sleeve 8 retained in position by a thin flange 11 at the end of an annular member 10 encircling the guide sleeve 2. Upon discharge of the projectile, the flange 11 is sheared by the set back of the member 10, thus freeing the sleeve 8, which, at the end of acceleration, moves forward due to its momentum, and allows the balls 3 to move outwardly, thus unlocking the striker and arming the fuze.
