Abstract
280,859. Schneider et Cie. Nov. 17, 1926, [Convention date]. Projectile fuzes.-Relates to percussion fuzes comprising a direct-action striker B, a momentum pellet D, centrifugal segments F for locking the momentum pellet, and a two-part safety ring H, G normally locking the centrifugal segments, the ring H being adapted to set back on discharge and become interlocked with the ring G by hooks h, g, and the interlocked rings H, G being moved forward by a spring I after acceleration has ceased, whereupon the centrifugal segments move out and release the momentum pellet. According to the invention, a distance sleeve K is interposed between the centrifugal segments F and the direct-action striker B and prevents the firing pin b<2> reaching the percussion cap M so long as the centrifugal segments have not moved out. The firing pin shown is double pointed. A spring E is interposed between the momentum pallet and the direct-action striker, and a spring L is interposed between the front end of the distance sleeve K and a shoulder on the fuze body or on the direct-action striker B which is fastened to the fuze body by a shear pin C.
