415,886. Projectile fuzes. SCHWOB FRERES ET CIE SOC. ANON., La Chaux-de- Fonds, and VARAUD, A., 109, Route de Lyon, Geneva, both in Switzerland. Aug. 24, 1933, No. 23582. [Class 9 (i).] Relates to percussion fuzes of the kind in which a centrifugal bolt 5 is released on firing to permit the percussion pin 6 to approach the detonator 1, the sensitiveness being increased during flight by relative axial movement of the percussion pin and detonator produced by additional centrifugal bolts. According to the invention, the axially moving member comprises a cylindrical housing 2 for centrifugal bolts 3 which engage fixed inclines 7 on the fuze body to produce the axial movement, the housing having an extension 4 which is retained by the centrifugal bolt 5. On firing, the bolt 5 escapes through a deformable closure 10 and the housing 2 is released. The bolts 3 are preferably cylindrical and have hemispherical ends which during flight ride up the inclines 7 and rest against shoulders 9 to prevent return of the housing.
