Abstract
618,198. Projectile fuzes. ZBROJOVKA BRNO NARODNI PODNIK. Nov. 1, 1946, No. 32444. Convention date, June 19, 1939. [Class 9 (i)] A resilient membrane 10 disposed across the bore in the body 1 of a fuze exerts, by its inherent resiliency, a force on the striker 9, such force being augmented by inertia forces and by external air pressure on the membrane to maintain in the safety position centrifugally operated safety devices, such as balls 11. When the centrifugal force on the balls is sufficient to overcome these restraining forces, 'they move out of the recess 13 and away from the base 12 of the striker, thus permitting the striker to strike the detonator 4 on impact with the target. The membrane may be secured to the striker or it may be integral with it.
