Abstract
260,470. Skoda Works, Plzen, and pantoflicek, B. Feb. 12, 1926. Projectile fuzes.-To prevent premature explosion, a ball 4 is provided freely movable in the flash passage 2, and adapted to be pressed by inertia against a seat 3 during the acceleration which follows the discharge of the projectile. After this, the ball creeps forward and passes out into an enlargement 5. So long as the ball is in the passage 2. the flash cannot be transmitted from a percussion fuze 1 to a powder plug 7. The obturating action of the ball is enhanced by an expansion chamber 6 between the seat 3 and the powder plug 7.
