Abstract

432,092. Shrinking fabrics. CLUETT, PEABODY, & CO., Inc., River Street, Troy, New York, U.S.A. Feb. 20, 1935, No. 5471. Addition to 359,759. [Class 42 (i)] In a cloth shrinking machine as claimed in the parent Specification, wherein an endless webcarrier band 12 runs on to a heated drying and ironing drum 11, instead of the band being flexed to cause web shrinkage at the point of nip between the drum 11 and the leading-on roll 13 as described in Specification 370,814, it is flexed at a point away from the drum as shown in Fig. 1 and the guiding means 29 is extended so that it holds the web W against the band until it reaches the drum 11. A guiding roll 18 may be used at the nip.
