626,336. Finishing fabrics. STANDFAST DYERS & PRINTERS, Ltd., and KILBY, W. Oct. 31, 1946, No. 32307. [Class 42 (i)] Textile fabrics are shrunk by stretching them in wet or damp condition to a width greater than loom width, while allowing them to contract freely warpwise, then releasing the weftwise tension while they are still damp, and drying substantially free of warpwise and weftwise tension. The fabrics may be treated directly after dyeing or printing and without drying prior to the weft tensioning, which may be done on an overfeed pin stenter. Any slack-drying machine may be used. The final dimensions of the fabric may be adjusted by a stretching after drying.
