780,048. Finishing fabrics. UNITED STATES RUBBER CO. March 29, 1955 [June 18, 1954], No. 9111/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 42 (1). [Also in Group IX] A fabric has, in one direction, thermoplastic yarns interspersed with floated unshrinkable yarns, so that when the fabric is shrunk by heating the floats form pile loops. Weftwise shrinking may be effected on a tentering machine. If the shrinkage is to be warpwise, the fabric may be passed into and out of a bath of hot water or dye through pairs of nip rollers driven at different speeds. After shrinking, the fabric may be heated and cooled under tension to stretch it slightly, or it may be shrunk further.
