Abstract

A woven, knitted or felted fabric, which may be a tufted carpet or other pile fabric and which is composed wholly or partly of unstabilised polyester filament or yarn having a shrinkage characteristic of not less than 30%, is shaped by heat shrinkage on to a mould which may be heated by steam jets or immersion in heated water or other liquid. The process may be continuous.ALSO:Toys are moulded from woven, knitted or felted fabric composed wholly or partly of polyester filament or yarn having a shrinkage characteristic of not less than 30% and which is heat shrunk onto a mould and which may subsequently be treated or coated with natural or synthetic plastics material, rubber paint or metal.
