Abstract

A woven fabric having one or two way stretch is made stretchable by including core-spun yarns whose core consists of elastomeric filaments; thermoplastic yarns running in the same direction are crimped by contraction of the core yarns when the fabric leaves the loom, and are set in the crimped condition. Finishing: The finishing sequence is: scouring with soap and soda; drying; relaxing on a winch in water at 80 DEG C; drying and heat setting at 180 DEG C for 1 minute; cropping; steam relaxing; decatising and pressing.
