Abstract

Fabric containing thermoplastic yarn is heat-set as it leaves the loom, knitting machine or tufting machine before it comes into contact with the take-up roll or any other part of the machine. Heating may be effected by an electrical heater disposed close to the back of the fabric, the temperature to which the fabric is raised being higher than that at which the yarn was previously set.
