389,686. Finishing fabrics. CLUETT, PEABODY, & CO., Inc., River Street, Troy, New York, U.S.A.-(Assignees of Cluett, S. L. ; River Street, Troy, New York, U.S.A.) June 8, 1932, No. 16189. Convention date, June 22, 1931. [Class 42 (i).] A fabric w shrunk by the process and apparatus described in Specifications 359,759 and 370,814 is fixed by ironing on both sides. As shown, the shrunken fabric after being ironed on one face by the roller 18 is separated from the web 17 and passed round bars or rollers 53, 54 which reverse it, and then passed between the web 17 and a second heated roller 19 which irons the second side. In a modified apparatus, the fabric is shrunk and ironed on one face in one machine of the type shown, then reversed and shrunk again and ironed on the second face in a second like machine.
