Abstract
475,286. Ironing-machines. BRIDGE & CO., Ltd., D., and BROWN, J. July 13, 1936, No. 19330. [Class 138 (ii)] The padding on the exposed portion of the periphery of the roller ofaDecoudun or similar ironing-machine is dried by causing jets a of hot air or superheated steam to impinge on the greater part of such exposed portion from overhead structures. The roller may be imperforate or perforated and in the latter case a portion of the air may be drawn through the padding by suction within the roller and the remainder collected, by a suction hood placed over the rollers and jets, for reconditioning and return to the jets. Extra air or steam jets may be provided at points adjacent the feed and delivery to assist in the passage of the goods into the nip between the roller and bed and the stripping of the goods from the roller at the delivery end.
