Abstract

346,782. Finishing fabrics. TOOTAL BROADHURST LEE CO., Ltd., 56, Oxford Street, Manchester, and LAURIE, K. S., Dasio, Simmondley New Road, Glossop, Derbyshire. Jan. 16, 1930, No. 1527. [Class 42 (i).] Tentering.-The edges of a fabric 14 while moist from a scouring, bleaching, dyeing, &c. machine are engaged at spaced intervals by pins &c. 2 which are brought nearer together prior to or during the drying of the fabric. The pins 2 are carried on blocks 1 loosely mounted on endless bands 3 passing round cams 17 which can be adjusted to vary the spacing of the pins 2 at the impaling position, the blocks being afterwards gripped at their ends 7 and driven by tenter chains I I which may be arranged to stretch the fabric laterally or not.
