954, 239. Textile treating apparatus. K BRUCKNER May 9, 1961 [May 9, 1960(3)], No. 16906/61. Heading D1L. In a method of setting or setting and dyeing of woven and knitted fabrics of yarns containing fibres of synthetic plastics, the fabric is pinned or clipped on to tentering chains of known construction and continuously passed in the tentered condition through a liquid bath effecting the setting or setting and dyeing of the fabric. In the apparatus shown tentering chains 1 of known construction run over sprocket wheels 2 through a water tank 3. Material 5 is guided over rollers 6, 8, 9 and 10 to be pinned or clamped to chains 1 in the usual manner. After passing through the water tank 3 the material may be passed through cooling apparatus 11 to drying apparatus 12 and then rolled or folded.
