Abstract

362,380. Finishing garments. BATES, F. B., 1, Ivy Road, and CHRISTIAN, H., 88, Letchworth Road, both in Leicester. Aug. 30, 1930, No. 25947. [Class 138 (ii).] Knitted hosiery &c. to be pressed and finished is stretched over a flexible former and passed between a roller 4, 8, and a concave surface. The concave surface may consist of a band 2 tightened against the roller 4 or held up against it by a block 9 or smaller rollers. The tension of the band may be adjusted by a screw 11 and spring 10. Two pressing machines may be arranged in series as shown in Fig. 1, to finish the stocking &c. on both sides at one pass.
