Abstract

405,272. Oil-engines. SOC. ANON. A. SAURER, Arbon, Switzerland. April 26, 1932, No. 12010. Convention date, Feb. 26. Addition to 400,173. [Class 7 (iii).] Instead of spraying fuel from a nozzle 3 over a comparatively short length of a stream of air issuing from one or more orifices between a combustion chamber 6 and the working cylinder, and whirling in the combustion chamber as in the parent Specification, the fuel is sprayed over the entire length of the air stream. The orifice 5, constructed either as a narrow slit or as a row of holes of the same or different size, is arranged in the plane of symmetry of a cylindrical or spherical combustion chamber parallel to the fuel jet. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also the admission of air tangentially into the combustion chamber with a horizontally disposed fuel nozzle. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
