Abstract

176,304. Bolinders Mekaniska Verkstads Aktiebolag, J. & C. G. Feb. 28, 1921, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-A liquid-fuel nozzle is constructed so that it can deliver a compact jet on a cone of spray. As shown it comprises a casing 1 containing an adjustable rod with grooves 9, 10 in its end. When the rod bears upon the bottom of the casing, the fuel can pass only through the grooves 9 and receives a whirling motion which causes it to spread into a cone on escaping through the orifice 7. If a space is left between the rod and bottom of the casing the fuel may avoid passing through the grooves 9. Modifications are described in which the nozzle may have different outlets for the straight and conical jets, and in which the end of the casing or a sleeve upon it are adjusted to vary the shape of the jet. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 385/14.
