377,501. Supplying charge ; regulating. ZœRMUHLE, E., 19, G aham Road, Ballard Estate, Bombay, India. Oct. 5, 1931, No. 27646. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1930. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (vi).] In a multicylinder engine, the charge is caused to circulate through two closed paths 1, 7, symmetrically arranged with respect to the supply passages 5 and cylinders 6, by the ejector action of a nozzle 3 leading from a carburetter 4 to a common diffuser 2. For fullthrottle running, the nozzle may be byepassed by two valve-controlled passages leading to the passages 7, the valves in these passages being controlled either manually or automatically by the difference of pressure on the two sides of the nozzles 3. In a modification, the nozzle 3 is omitted and the diffuser 2 is replaced by the suction and delivery passages of a rotary blower, valves being provided in the passages 7, which, when closed, cause the blower to act as a supercharger.
