Abstract

639,790. Auxiliary air admission. DE LUXE PRODUCTS CORPORATION. July 24, 1947, No. 19883. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1941. [Class 7 (ii)] In a multi-cylinder four-stroke engine, air is admitted to the cylinders, during deceleration and slow running, through a light non-return wafer valve 12 communicating with the exhaust manifold. The valve 12 comprises a light plate lifted by engine suction on guides 13, a screw stop 15 adjusting the amount of opening. Fluttering is prevented and quick closure is effected by an admission chamber 16 having a small entry 17 for the air. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also the application to single cylinder engines and to two-stroke engines. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
