Abstract

341,105. Fuel injectors. DUER, V. 2, Backersvej, Copenhagen. Oct. 12, 1929, No. 31007. Convention date, Aug. 3. [Class 7 (iii).] A valve-controlled atomizer for the solid or airless injection of liquid fuel comprises a number of nozzles arranged in series, one within the other. In Fig. 1 three nozzles 3, 4, 5 are shown and the fuel passes through small radial orifices 15, 17, 19 to the spaces 16, 18 between consecutive nozzles, these spaces being made narrow to prevent sufficient air to support combustion from reaching them. The nozzles are clamped together in a fluidtight joint at their respective bases by a cap-nut 2. According to a modified construction the outer nozzle may be made integral with the cap-nut. The nozzles may be of conical or hemispherical shape and the contacting faces 6, 7, 8 may also be of conical or spherical form.
