Abstract

313,905. Ellingson, E. March 19, 1928. Night-latches.-A latch bolt 14 is connected by a link 23 and a bar 22 to a sleeve 12 rigidly fixed to the handle shank 8. When the parts are assembled, the link 23 is inclined in the opposite direction to that in which it is turned for release, so that the bolt cannot be forced inwards by a tool. A cap 24 is fitted to the end of the handle shank and is connected to the bar 30 of the cylinder lock 6 in the outside of the door. A slot 27 in the cap works with a pin 26 on the shank so that the shank revolves in the cap for retracting the bolt from the inside, but revolves with it, after lost motion when the bolt is retracted by the lock 6.
