Abstract

305,419. Ellingson, E. April 30, 1928. Latches, sliding.-A latch bolt 11 in a tubular casing 6 and shot by a spring 24 disposed between the end of the bolt and lugs 26, 27 in the casing, is retracted by a link 18 operated by a casting 28 rotatable by a square handlespindle 31. The inturned ends 16, 17 of the link engage slots 23 in the bolt so that the bolt may yield on contact with the striking-plate, the other end of the link being connected to member 28 by an eye 34. Member 28 works in semi-circular bearings at the end of the casing, against which it is held by the spring, and the inner end of the bolt has a V-recess 12 to allow the swinging movement of the link.
