259,405. Godwin, W. T. Nov. 10, 1925. Latches, sliding. - A drop latch has an oblique sliding bolt A on ball-bearings E, the bolt being retained raised by a weighted pawl C. The pawl C has its end P projecting through the casing and engaged by a ball in the side plate to release the bolt when the door is shut. The bolt A has a projection H engaged by a pawl D which is actuated by a key-operated cam G. The bolt A carries a weight B engaged by the follower F.
