Abstract

280,466. Oakes, F. June 21, 1927. Sliding bolts for doors have a projection engaging a spring catch to hold them withdrawn until the door is closed, when the catch mechanism is tripped allowing a spring to shoot the bolt. The bolt A has a lug C engaging a catch K, and an operating knob L. When the door is closed, the projecting part of the bolt catches on the bolt socket and tilts the bolt to rip the lug C over the catch K and allow the spring D to shoot the bolt.
