Latches, sliding. - The cam d for retracting the bolt a is capable of an axial sliding movement to bring it into engagement with a projection g on the lock case when the bolt has been retracted. The tail of the bolt is provided with projections c for engagement with a cam d that is actuated by the rotary movement of a knob. The bolt is withdrawn against the action of a spring and the knob is then pulled until the projection g on the case enters the recess j on the cam. As an alternative to this recess, holes or pin projections may be formed in or on the cam to engage with pins or holes or in the lock casing.
