Locks; revolving-barrel. -A lock, applicable for locking automobiles to prevent theft, comprises a casing 6, Fig. 1, enclosing a fixed member 8 and a rotary member 9 formed with an eccentric portion 10 adapted to project through a slot in the casing but to be withdrawn within the casing when the member 9 is rotated by a key which first acts to move pressed pins 12 into releasing position. As applied for locking an oscillatory member 20, Fig. 4, the lock 6 is slidably mounted in a fixed member 18 and carries a projection 21 adapted to engage a recess in the member 20. The casing can be secured in locking or release position by turning the eccentric 10 into the recess 18<b> or 18a in the member 18. In another application, the movable part to be locked carries a sleeve which can be aligned with the part enclosing the lock casing, and the casing is moved partly into the sleeve for locking and secured by turning the eccentric member into a recess in the sleeve. The movable part is advanced or withdrawn by the key, a recess in which engages an annular rib in the end of the casing.
